Ioannis Poulakis 

Born in 1992 in Athens, Greece. 

Regular guest conductor of the Athens State Orchestra since a 2023 debut on World Music Day. Since 2024, conductor and répétiteur at Bühne Baden in Austria, leading numerous symphonic and music-theatre performances. Collaborations in Greece with the Greek National Opera, the Greek Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Athens Philharmonia Orchestra, and the City of Athens Symphony Orchestra. International appearances in Austria, Bulgaria, Czechia, Hungary, Italy, and Romania. Recipient of 2nd Prize (no First Prize awarded) at the 1st Borislav Ivanov Conducting Competition of the State Opera Varna, including performances with the orchestra and soloists of the company.

Studies in piano, violin, music theory, and composition at the Athens Music Society. Master of Music from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in Historical and Systematical Musicology. Subsequent specialization in orchestral conducting under Maestro Lucas Karytinos, concluding with diploma awarded with excellence and First Prize.

Beyond the podium, active piano soloist with a broad repertoire. As répétiteur, regular collaborations with the Athens State Orchestra and leading artists and soloists of the international music scene.
